Click on the map. The code for the shape you create will be presented here. When finished with a shape, click Next shape and draw another shape, if you wish. If you want to edit a saved polyline or polygon, click on it. Then click Edit lines. The complete KML code for what you have created, is always available with Show KML.

This is a drawing tool for polyline, polygon , polygon with holes, and for rectangle and circle. The tool uses the Google Maps API Version 3 (V3).

Code for the shapes you create will be presented in the text area. You may choose to see KML, Google javascript V3 or Bing javascript. Bing map applications use a javascript different from Google. But they read KML files. Any KML you create here, may be used with Bing map applications.

The V2 feature enableEditing does not exist for V3. But it is possible to build the feature for V3 with some javascript. A code for this has been posted by peckham on Snipplr. I have adapted peckham's code for this application. Use the 'Edit lines' button if you want to edit any polyline you create. When editing, points may be removed by clicking on them.

The Google Maps Javascript API Version 3 is now the official Javascript API. Version 2 of this API has been officially deprecated. KML, however, is not changed and is supported by both Javascript versions. You may create KML files with more options than here with my V2 application Online Google maps tool
